The partnership between Marion ISD and Northeast Lakeview College is aimed to facilitate the high school-to-college transition for 2009 graduating seniors.. Upon graduation from High school, students who participate in this partnership will be better prepared to acquire a 2-year degree, a certificate, a license or complete the first two years of a 4-year degree program at the ACCD's Northeast Lakeview College. For students who have been accepted to or plan to attend another college or university and participate in the program, these students can attend Northeast Lakeview College during the summer session and receive transferable college credit.

Through this collaboration ACCD will partner with Marion High School to participate in the following:

• Application Processing: Help students complete the online application to the Alamo Community Colleges
• Orientation/Advisement/Assessment: Provide orientation, group advising about coursework and testing (at NO COST to the student), the student's assessment test scores can be used for entry to other colleges
• Financial Aid/Scholarship Search: Assist students in applying for financial aid and research funding/scholarship opportunities
• Scholarship Opportunity: Students will have the opportunity to apply for a TG Scholarship to be used at Northeast Lakeview College in Fall 2009
  
• Career Exploration: Provide students with information on ACCD fields of study; learn about high-demand professions; examine interests and aptitudes
• Northeast Lakeview College Tour: Student will be able to tour NLC and become familiar with the campus, faculty and staff
• Transfer Seminar/Fair: Students will be given information on transferring to a University and will have the opportunity to visit NLC and meet with University representatives during a semiannual transfer fair
• PreCollege Academic Camp: Students receiving TG Scholarships and requiring remediation courses will have the opportunity to attend an academic camp
• Registration: Provide an opportunity for students to register at Northeast Lakeview College

Parent permission is required for a student to participate in this program. This permission allows for student information to be shared between Marion ISD and ACCD. Please complete the Authorization for Release of Information Form located in the counseling office.

However, if you CHOOSE NOT to take advantage of this opportunity, please complete the Waiver of Participation located in the counseling office.
