The National School Lunch (NSLP) and Breakfast Program (SBP) are federally assisted meal programs that provide nutritionally balanced, low cost  or free meals to children each day. The Food and Nutrition Service, under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), administers the program at the federal level. At the state level, the NSLP and SBP are administered in public schools by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), which operates the program through agreements with school districts.

Applications for free and reduced priced meals are sent home with all Marion ISD students during the first week of school and are available at each campus and district office during the school year. How to complete the application, eligibility, and income guidelines are also enclosed with the application. A new application must be submitted each school year and applications are accepted at any time. Applications are available in English and Spanish. For more information on the Marion ISD Child Nutrition Program, please contact the Marion Food Services located at the Marion ISD Annex or call 830 914-2803 ext.
