BOARD MEETING DATES

The "official meeting agenda" and meeting location will be posted at the entrance of the MISD Central Office in compliance with the requirements of the Texas Open Meetings Act. The Marion ISD Board of Trustees designates a time for audience participation at the beginning of each meeting to hear persons who desire to make comments.

In accordance with Board Policy "BED (LOCAL)"

  • those wishing to speak shall sign up before the meeting begins stating the concern or noting the agenda item they wish to address (see the above policy for more information);
  • audience participation is limited to five minutes;
  • an audience of more than five persons shall appoint a representative; and
  • the Board shall not deliberate any subject that is not on the posted agenda.

If, during the course of the meeting, any discussion of any item on the agenda should be in closed meeting, the Board will conduct a closed meeting in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code, Chapter 551, subchapters D. and E.

The MISD Board of Trustees welcomes parents, students, community members, visitors and guests at every School Board meeting and encourages those who may have a concern or interest to share their views and ideas with the Board.
